Dr McAndrew works with children, young people and adults suffering with stress and anxiety and episodes of panic and fear which is often combined with depression and other associated symptoms. She offers a range of approaches to suit the individual including person centred counselling, CBT, Solution Focussed Therapy, DBT and EMDR.
Children and young people often suffer from performance anxiety at school and a fear of rejection by their peers which can lead to low self-esteem, poor school performance and mood swings and behavioural problems in home and/or at school. Dr McAndrew has worked as a school and child psychologist and she understands the demands in the classroom that children, young people and their parents and teachers face.
Adults can suffer from anxiety related to stress at work, stress in relationships and low self-worth which may have affected them since childhood due to early traumas, losses and family experiences.
Dr McAndrew offers a compassionate, informal but highly skilled approach based on many years in practice that has included managing teams and specialist services.
